Before you purchase a new watch band, you will need to know what size watch band you need.

To find out what size what band you need, just measure your current watch band / strap at the end that meets the watch.

Most men's watch bands range from 18mm - 22mm (larger men's watches are also now using 24mm or 26mm) and come in metal, leather, rubber, silicone, lizard, ostrich, alligator, suede, shark, stingray, and many other materials.

Most women' watch bands range from 14mm - 18mm (larger women's watches are now using up to 24mm bands) and come in metal, leather, rubber, silicone, lizard, ostrich, alligator, suede, shark, stingray, and many other materials.

Most watch bands are "straight" at the end.

If your watch band is "straight" at the end (no cutouts, etc.), then you will be able to easily find watch bands on ebay by simply typing in the size watch band you need (example - "18mm watch band" if your watch uses 18mm watch bands, etc).

If your watch is not "straight" at the end, then you'll need to search using the name/make/model of your watch to find the correct band (example - "....(brand).....(model)....(size)..., watch band").

If you have any questions re: what watch band you need, just email the seller of the watch band BEFORE bidding w/ any questions and most sellers are more then happy to help you purchase the right size/band.

You might also want to pick up a spring bar tool on ebay when purchasing your new watch band / strap.

These inexpensive tools will help you easily switch out your band.

Once you have your band and are ready to switch out your band, simply follow these easy directions:

All you have to do is get a spring bar tool (or a very small flat head screwdriver or a knife - be careful, please) and push the pins in that hold the band/buckle onto the watch. Just insert spring bar tool/screwdriver/knife between side of band and case/buckle and push in and down.

The band should "pop off" the watch and then just switch out the pins into the new band/buckle (and then place the band/buckle on your watch) and you'll be able to change your band/buckle easily and quickly.

These directions will work for 95% of all watches.

If you have a watch that uses screws or screw pins to hold your watch band on (usually more expensive watches), you will need a small screwdriver and will "unscrew" the pin instead of "popping" it off.

If you do have a watch w/ screw pins, I would suggest that you check w/ a jewler before switching out your band (just to be safe).

Our company safety policy does not allow metal bracelets on watches, they must be rubber. I bought 2 of these straps thinking one would not last more than a few months so I got a spare.I was surprised by the quality compared to the price I paid. Its been 6 months and I am still on my first strap.
While I would not use this strap on my $3000 Omega it suits a $300 watch very well.Looks pretty sharp also for the price paid.

Review of Casio Men's Pathfinder Multi-Band Solar Atomic Ultimate Watch #PAW1500-1V

Picked up this watch last week (found it somewhere else for a for a bit cheaper) and loving it. The watch has all the functions mentioned and all work smoothly. The only thing to note is that the watch case itself is a mix of dark green and black (it's hard to make out in photos). Keep that in mind if you're "fashion conscious," didn't bother me one bit. The watch is a little on the large side so if you've got a very small wrist it might be huge on you. I'm a lefty and wear it on my right wrist and have no problem with button operations. For some reason the moon display was reversed but the documentation explained how to fix that quickly. Like all temperature sensing watches, your measurements will be off if you try taking a reading with it on your wrist (body heat and all). Everything else appears accurate. The radio receiver has worked flawlessly every night, even receiving a signal with the watch deep inside my house.

Pros:
Watch has everything except a GPS!
Solar powered, don't worry about batteries.
Large, easy to read numbers.
Bright backlight, auto backlight if you enable it.
Calendar programmed until 2099.
Great water/depth resistance (200m).

Cons:
Large size (only a problem if you have a small wrist).
Disclaimers in manual to take all readings with a grain of salt (not meant as professional quality measurements).
Two-tone case (dark green and black, why not just back?).
Non-standard watch bands, can't swap it out easily for non-Casio band.

Review of 16-Piece Deluxe Watch Opener Tool Kit Repair Pin Remover

The product arrived promptly. Ordered on Sunday was surprised to see it in mailbox on Wednesday. Already opened two watches for battery replacement and shortened two chainlinks. The watch replacement and chain-link fixing is at least five each in our neighborhood. So I think the tool has already paid for itself and saved the trouble to go to the stores. The nearby Meijer store used to replace the battery at no charge but has stopped doing that lately. I do not have any expensive waterproof watches with screwed backs so I have not used that tool. But all the other tools came in very handy.

The tool quality seems fine. No instructions. So I had to figure out. I guess these tools are meant for people who know what they are doing. Learning was not difficult. By the time I reached the third watch, I knew fairly well how to use them. May be I am a slow learner.

I wish the tools had a storage box that came along, but no big deal. Next trip to Dollar Tree should solve that.

The candies were included in my shipment too like an earlier review had mentioned. Kind of reminded me of the old time neighborhood stores. Rather pleasant.

Top 5 reasons why I am unhappy with this:
1) band is cheap - 8.95 is not commensurate with cheap velcro strap on nylon material
2) The 16-20mm band just does not fit my 16 mm watch.Not sure how they came up with this...
3) the band is NOT leather - only the little "Expedition" seal is made of "leather"
4) the strap's loophole is made of plastic, which would be bound to break immediately.
5) nowhere on the product's page is any of this detailed.

However, it arrived in a timely fashion.

Once you've owned an Indiglo backlit watch you will never go back.I have had two of this exact model and a couple of other Timex variants on the style, and I have addicted my mother to Indiglos.This model is sturdy, doesn't scratch too easily, and "take a lickin' and keep on tickin".After some years the Indiglo feature starts to wear out even with fresh batteries which is why I am getting a new one now.If you find them too plain there are a number of crazed ways to dress them up, many involving stretchy elastic with beads instead of the steel band that comes with the watch.

Review of 22mm MODENA F-1 style Italian Rubber Watch Band w/ Deployant / Deployment Buckle / Clasp

I was looking for a watch band that was more adjustable in length than the normal "belt-buckle" style watch bands, and liked the silicone watch bands, so this seems like a good fit.

This band isn't infinitely adjustable, but it has enough adjustment for me. The halves of the band have a series of holes for the pins holding the clasp on. You find the size that fits, and then cut the band and move the pins. Once the band is cut, you have 3 different lengths that you can adjust it to without cutting the band shorter. (Don't cut it too short)

It looks nice, and the stainless steel clasp goes nicely with my stainless steel watch.

Review of Seiko Original Stainless Steel Watch Band 22mm and Genuine Seiko Spring Bars

I bought this watch for my Seiko automatic diver's watch. Like the previous reviewer, I had to have smaller spring bars installed, but since I had the band put on at a watch shop, I simply traded them for the smaller diameter pins. The band arrived in a heat sealed bag, well packaged and well protected. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five is that shipping was via Parcel Post, which is relatively slow. The package took about a week to arrive. The shipping fees, though, were extremely reasonable. I would not hesitate to buy from this seller again, and I've referred several friends to them.

Review of Casio Men's Pathfinder Multi-Band Solar Atomic Silver Watch #PAW1300T-7V

I have admired the Casio altimeter/barometer/compass pathfinders for several years.But I never cared for the huge size.

I wanted their functions in a smaller, lighter watch.When Casio introduced the PAW1300T-7V, I decided I would try it as a replacement for my aging Luminox Navy Seal watch. I needed a watch that was fairly light and easily readable in the dark.The Luminox had fit that bill perfectly with the Tritum capsules on the hands at at the hour marks.But over time those capsules loose their luminosity.Also batteries have to be replaced.The prospect of a solar powered, rechargable watch that automatically corrected itself with the Atomic Clock signal was an added benefit.

I fly for an EMS helicopter service for a living.Half of my shifts are night shifts.This watch works very well for quick time checks with its auto-illumination feature.I have found if I calibrate the altimeter and barometer with local conditions that the altimeter function is very accurate, usually within 20-40 feet of the calibrated altimeters in my helicopter.I frequently check the watch against the altimeters when we are flying.Dual time zones means I can leave the secondary time zone on UTC for filing filght plans.The temperature function is not of any real value to me as it is greatly affected by body proximity.But it is accurate if the watch is removed from the body for about 30 minutes.The alarms work well but the alarm tones are too soft for my ears after flying turbine engined aircraft for almost 40 years.

So, a quick recap: Automatic self-correcting time snychronization, Solar powered/recharged, Excellent automatic self-illumiation, Accurate altimeter and compass functions when calibrated for local conditions.It smaller than previous PAW's and lighter, especially in the Titanium version.I was just thinking the other day that I have been using Casio watches for the last 30 years. (I just put a battery in one of the oldest and it still works great!) I have always liked their layout and user interface.This newest Pathfinder of mine is no exception.It is easy to use, easy to set.If you like Casios, for the money, it is hard to beat this watch, especially on Amazon!

Review of Casio Men's Digital Compass Twin Sensor Green Nylon Band Sport Watch #SGW100B-3V

I bought this watch recently and as any Casio watch its great looking and worth fully for the price tag. Compass, World timer, Stop watch, Alarm and timer features are great and easy to operate. My only complain is the thermometer which I find practically useless. The instruction manual says watch sensor needs 30 min to adjust to the atmospheric temperature. For instance if you take your watch from warm place to a cold environment it will give erroneous readings for 30 mins!! And if you are wearing your watch, you can't depend on the reading at all since body temperarture will ridiculously increase the reading even in a cold winter day! If you take off your watch and try to measure.. you have to wait 30 mins to get accurate readings. So this sensor is not useful at all for measuring temperature when you are outdoors. Other than this, I like the watch.

Review of Watch Band Link Remover Plier

Awkward to position the bracelet correctly, and somewhat hard to use on bracelets 22mm or larger. The pin on mine broke after maybe 10 uses. Replacement pins are supposed to be available, but I haven't found any.

I have bought several styles and sizes of the rubber Modena Watch Bands.I have been very happy with all of them.I do not like bands with buckles so I have converted all my watches that had factory bands with buckles to rubber straps with deployment clasps.I found the black to go with most everything but I have used an orange strap on a large diver watch that is black with orange numerals and it just pops with that strap and I get a lot compliments.Great product, good quality and lots of choices in styles, colors and sizes. Fast shipping also.Only wish they made more in the 26mm-28mm size.

Review of Casio Men's Pathfinder Multi-Band Solar Atomic Black Watch #PAW1300-1V

Been very satisfied with this watch so far. I was really concerned about the size, but this slim pathfinder fits the bill. Most of the current pathfinder watches are behemoths that are oversized for my wrist. This one is large but not oversized, I wouldn't want to go any bigger myself. (56.9 x 47.4 x 11.5mm / 60g) Most of the other pathfinder are in the (62.3 x 52.2 x 14.2mm / 78g) range. So I get the same features but a little smaller footprint.

Features:
The compass has been spot on with a handheld compass I checked it against.
The altimeter calibrates by pressure and temp. So, it needs to be adjusted for current conditions before you start a trip. It's varied widely so far. Also changed the display to read in feet and not in meters. It goes in 20 foot intervals.

The barometer stays a little below what weather sources say actual pressure is but I'mlooking for trends in pressure not the actual pressure(at least I am). Rising as a trend improving weather, falling pressure as a trend deteriorating weather. Can also change the display for pressure from hPa to inHg.

Had to manually set the thermometer and it's been in the ballpark with the real temp. Which once again was what I was after, not precise readings, so I am happy with it.

There a few mountains in the area I'm in so I was a little concerned about the atomic time keeping. When I took it out of the box it hadn't updated in about two months. I wasn't able to manually update until later in the night, around 11 pm est. Every night since it's sync'd it's time automatically sometimes while even on my wrist. It tires at 12:00, 1:00 and 2:00.

Really like the large display for the time. Very easy to see at a glance.
world time feature: who cares?
Stopwatch is a stopwatch and works.
Countdown time is easy to config and start.
Haven't set any alarms yet. The watch can also set to silent. Can chime on each hour too.
Not using the auto backlight.
I'd give the watch about 4 and a quarter stars but since I can't do a quarter I'll go ahead and give it 5.

Review of Casio Men's Pathfinder Multi-Band Solar Atomic Ultimate Watch #PAW1500T-7V

This watch has about all the gimmicks you could want in a watch. Well, perhaps a GPS, heart rate monitor and MP3 player would be nice inclusions... However, it is solar-powered with a generous battery reserve and should never die with normal light exposure. I've never seen my battery level fall below H (high). It has a thermometer, barometer, altimeter, compass, moonphase indicator, tide chart, automatic synchronization with international atomic clock radio broadcasts and the standard multi-function watch stuff like stopwatch, world time, etc.

That's all fine and dandy, but let's face it, this is NOT a precise instrument.

The compass is surprisingly consistent, though I did have to calibrate it away from the factory preset initially. I feel this feature is the watch's strongest feature due to its accuracy and the fact that it could someday save your life. Still, it's not perfect. The compass display only lasts a few seconds, so you can't use it like a real compass.

The barometer also is quite consistent once calibrated, though I have seen errors of 2 hPa in either direction.

Thermometer is rather fickle if the watch is being worn on skin. I've noticed as much as 5 degrees Fahrenheit error in either direction. It's typically within 1 F degree either way. Have never verified the thermometer's accuracy when not being worn, so can't comment on that.

Altimeter gives decent approximation. I live at sea level and get readings as low as -10 meters and as high as 10 meters while at sea level. Typically it reads 0 or 5 meters. On a recent trip about 250 miles from home, with the watch calibrated at my home's sea level, I reached a peak altitude of 1195 meters, according to the watch. On my descent, I compared the watch's altitude reading with a posted USGS altitude sign. At 457.2 meters (1500 feet) the watch read a pretty consistent 420 meters.

The moonphase indicator is, of course, very accurate.

Tide charting leaves much to be desired. It calculates first high tide to within 20 minutes. Pretty good. However, this is the only actual high or low tide to be seen and to actually see the actual time, you must go into the Adjust mode. The actual graphing of the tides is sloppy and inaccurate. A dot-plotted chart like that used for the barometer should be incorporated. The 2-hour increments of the present graph also hinder true accuracy. Also, this mode ALWAYS defaults to showing tide at 6:00 am. This time can be adjusted manually each time you enter the mode, but the default time CANNOT be changed. Tide charting is the watch's weakest feature.

Rather disappointed with the atomic clock synchronization too. I live in HNL, one of the listed time zones that should be able to receive atomic calibration. Has not happened yet, after over a month. When I try to manually synchronize, I get a level 1 (low, but existent) signal indication, but no synchronization. Frustrating.

It's also a little disappointing that a "titanium" watch has a PLASTIC shell and stainless back and presumably a something-other-than-titanium case. The band does appear to be legitimate titanium but I wouldn't be surprised if it's titanium-plated aluminum or something. This watch, despite it's substantial bulkiness, is very light. My Citizen Eco-Drive Skyhawk, which is TRULY a titanium watch and is notably smaller, is noticeably heavier.

All in all, it's a cool watch. It's very stylish for a digital watch. It's comfortable. It's very durable. And you'll always have reasonable accuracyfrom any function (maybe not with tide charting), with a good compass. Worth the Amazon price, but not the suggested retail price.

Review of 20mm Modena Italian Rubber Thick Dive Watch Band Strap

Before you purchase a new watch band, you will need to know what size watch band you need.

To find out what size what band you need, just measure your current watch band / strap at the end that meets the watch.

Most men's watch bands range from 18mm - 22mm (larger men's watches are also now using 24mm or 26mm) and come in metal, leather, rubber, silicone, lizard, ostrich, alligator, suede, shark, stingray, and many other materials.

Most women' watch bands range from 14mm - 18mm (larger women's watches are now using up to 24mm bands) and come in metal, leather, rubber, silicone, lizard, ostrich, alligator, suede, shark, stingray, and many other materials.

Most watch bands are "straight" at the end.

If your watch band is "straight" at the end (no cutouts, etc.), then you will be able to easily find watch bands on ebay by simply typing in the size watch band you need (example - "18mm watch band" if your watch uses 18mm watch bands, etc).

If your watch is not "straight" at the end, then you'll need to search using the name/make/model of your watch to find the correct band (example - "....(brand).....(model)....(size)..., watch band").

If you have any questions re: what watch band you need, just email the seller of the watch band BEFORE bidding w/ any questions and most sellers are more then happy to help you purchase the right size/band.

You might also want to pick up a spring bar tool on ebay when purchasing your new watch band / strap.

These inexpensive tools will help you easily switch out your band.

Once you have your band and are ready to switch out your band, simply follow these easy directions:

All you have to do is get a spring bar tool (or a very small flat head screwdriver or a knife - be careful, please) and push the pins in that hold the band/buckle onto the watch. Just insert spring bar tool/screwdriver/knife between side of band and case/buckle and push in and down.

The band should "pop off" the watch and then just switch out the pins into the new band/buckle (and then place the band/buckle on your watch) and you'll be able to change your band/buckle easily and quickly.

These directions will work for 95% of all watches.

This is a great regular sized band (fits most wrists well)!

If you have a watch that uses screws or screw pins to hold your watch band on (usually more expensive watches), you will need a small screwdriver and will "unscrew" the pin instead of "popping" it off.

If you do have a watch w/ screw pins, I would suggest that you check w/ a jewler before switching out your band (just to be safe).

You'll snap the pins in your watch and tear it off the band before the band will ever let go of your wrist.No doubt this is one strong band.But its bulky bulky bulky.The white hemp material is surprisingly thick (thicker than any of the materials in my other Chisco bands) and though I have an average sized male wrist this wraps around my wrist about 1.25 times which mean the thickness doubles up.

If you could cut this band down it would certainly be a better fit, but there's no easy way to do that without risk of fraying the hemp material (its prety thick cord).But its not worth it to return so I'm out around 11 bucks.

Went to the local superstore and picked up a Timex Expedition Fast Wrap band instead - much much better (and better looking) velcro band in my opinion.If you're looking for a band to skydive or surf with this (or the regular Band) is a good choice.The hold is supreme.

But your sports are a little less extreme - hiking, biking, snowshoeing, skiing, backpacking, fishing - anything not constantly tearing at your body, and you prefer a quick drying fast removal velcro band that also looks great check out the Fast Wraps.

I have owned several of these watches, currently have and are using two of them. I have abused them to no end and the only thing that seems to do them in is when the battery finally gives out. (I have had mixed luck with keeping them working AFTER replacing the battery. Could be the technical abilities on my end...) I am active outdoors and have worn my watch: horseback riding (daily), swimming, ran it through the wash cycle, dropped it, and struck the doorjamb with my wrist/watch face as I was walking through it. Review of Casio Men's G-Shock Multi-Band Solar Atomic Analog Watch #AWG100-1A

When I opened the package, I was surprised with how this watch looked even better than it did on the web sites. The three small windows on the face are easy to see, but are not as bright as they look in the picture. The silver frame around the face and the hands stand out in a dark background, which is so cool! This watch is not small like baby-G, but is compact and looks like all you need for everyday life is packed inside.

The atomic system and solar power are really convenient as other reviewers describe them, and you don't have to do anything to keep this watch working accurately. I just grab it and put it on my wrist in the morning! Even though it's casual, it can be worn for work as well as recreation. Of course, this is G-Shock, so you don't have to worry about doing damage to it at all, while washing your hands, taking a nap, and even playing sports in the rain!

Personally, I like analog watches better than digital ones because you can quickly see the time in stead of having to picture the clock face in your head. But it's convenient to have digital display, too, to view the exact minutes and seconds. This watch is basically analog, but has digital display, as well, so you can enjoy the best of both worlds! Just a note, this watch doesn't have second hand (but you can see seconds on the digital display), and the minute hand moves every twenty seconds. It's kinda fun to watch.

The only change that I would make is to have the whole face illuminated, including digital display. The LED light only lights up the analog portion of the watch from the bottom of the watch face, and you cannot see the digital display in the dark (You can see the analog portion clearly without any trouble). So you shouldn't expect to set the alarm in the dark.

But over all, I'm quite satisfied with this watch and would recommend it to anyone looking for a tough, reliable, and good looking timepiece.

I recently bought a Casio MDV-102 (BEST DIVERS WATCH FROM CASIO)

I love the watch (read my review of it) However the band was a hard plastic and wore the skin off my wrist in 2 places.

Delivery was prompt and as advertised. Has a nice assortment of tools that appear to be of good quality but one needs to go to a web page to find out what they are used for, would be helpful to include a tool list and what/how they are used for the novice. I bought this to replace batteries however I had difficulty in closing up a couple of watches. This tool is not included with this kit so if you don't have really strong fingers you will need another tool to close the watch after battery replacement. Also replaced a watch band, this was a snap with the tools provided.

Review of 20mm MODENA Italian Rubber Watch Band w/ EASY TO SIZE DEPLOYANT BUCKLE

The blue strap I got looks very nice. Easy clasp open/close, sturdy plastic on the band, easy to adjust length without tools.

However, there are several issues with it that I think may matter to you as well. I am not using it because of these.

(1) The band is stiffer than my current band, which in itself would not be problematic if it would not try to maintain its flat shape rather than conform to my hand's contour. For rounder, wider wrists this may not be an issue but I'm boney/squarish at the wrists and the band just does not allow for the snug yet relaxed feel that I like in my pre-shaped plastic bands or in a broken-in leather band I currently have.

(2) The metal clasp plucks my hair way too often - probably not an issue with everyone but I'm hairy and it hurts when it does that.

(3) The two little metal connectors to the watch provided with the band are very week and wobbly - even the factory ones that came with a $30 Timex watch for which the band was intended are sturdier and of better quality so I used them instead of the ones that came with the band.

(4) The metal clasp outside surface is way too easily scratched - that's just cosmetics and does not really matter to me. Though just from wearing it during the course of a couple of days on a desk job it has two parallel worn areas where it touches the desk - looks like I tried to sand it down...

(5) One of the reasons I got this was to use its easy length adjustability so that I can wear my watch under a shirt at work or over a dry suit on the water. However, the clasp insides where it touches your wrist is made of somewhat hard-eged material. While that is not an issue in terms of bare hand comfort (although I suspect that this is why it is plucking my hair) - I thought it might actually damage my dry-suit's wrist gaskets so I would not wear it over it.

To sum-it up: this would work great for a round not-too-hairy wrist, especially if you have a pair of sturdier attachments to the watch to use with it. For me - it is just sitting at my desk.

My last Band finally had to be replaced after 10 years of outstanding service.On-line seems to be the only place to find The Band, so I ordered from Amazon (via a retailer) despite shipping being almost as much as The Band.A week or so later I received a different band than the one I ordered.Not a bad product, but I'm not a "hemp" kind of guy.Needless to say I found the corporate website in Utah and ordered directly from them and they sent me The Band I originally wanted from Amazon.
