Review of Swiss Military Hanowa Men's Conquest Watch #06-4035-04-007.T

I am in my late 50's and have difficulty with small print. I wanted a casual watch, which didn't look like jewelry, with an easy-to-read face. I prefer numerals on a watch face. The more subtle markings of many watches are difficult to read, even in bright light. This watch is exactly what I wanted. Cosmetically it has a military look, spartan and non-jewelry like. I requested the black nylon canvas band, but the watch came with the black leather one instead. It was a fortunate error, if it was an error. They may just have not had the band I requested in stock. In any event, the band is fine and I would have preferred it over the one I requested. This is the first item other than a DVD, which I have ordered on line. I usually feel less than confident that the graphic images are equal to seeing the real thing. In this case, the watch more than lived up to my expectations. I have had it for nearly one month and so far it keeps good time and I am very happy with my purchase. I feel that it was a very good value for the money.

I looked for three features in the watch I needed for everyday use.1) As a massage therapist, sometimes I forget to take my watch off before I massage a client, so I needed a watchband would hold up in case I creamed/oiled my hands and then had to remove the watch.Lost a lot of leather bands that way.2) An important feature - being able to read the time.The face size is just right.The downside and one I had not counted on was how small the date space is and one I could have done without and do without because I can't really read it and also I wish the numbers and dials were black because when too much light reflects on the face I have difficulty reading the time.3) Pricing.Need a high quality watch with the above two features.I viewed more than 4,000 watches on line before I picked this one. Three out of four seemed was the best find out there for me.

I like the watch, it was as nice as I expected.However, I didn't like the band it came with and it was different (allegator look) from the picture shown (plain black band w/ white stitching). I didn't feel like going through the return process, so now I will have to look for a new band.Halfway happy w/ the purchase.

fairly on time shipping, received item as described but no included manual for the watch. I have hard time adjusting the time to my time zone. I didn't realize that I have to turn the dial train first before I can pull it out to adjust the time.

Great look, nice rubber wrist, i had it for over a year, you get a very nice swiss watch ideal for outdoors activity, yatching, sailing, no risk of loosing the wrist band because of cheap plastic like "casios", it is real rubber and last forever !!! the crysral holds very much of the usual bumps, without visible damage, but not completely scratch resistant like sapphire, but for this price you can't complain. I recommend it very much, over many other much expensive brands like Swiss Army and Tag Heuer, maybe not the same brand status but great look and affordable price for a swiss wrist watch.

I bought this watch for a friend and she loves it. For once, the military style is in a smaller, more feminine style. The precision workings and the little crystal bulb over the date, making it easier to read, are major pluses. The hands and numbers glow in the dark and it has a nice sturdy leather band with top stitching. Unfortunately, it does not include tweezers, a corkscrew or screwdriver.
