Review of Timex Men's Gold-Tone Analog Expansion Band Stainless Steel Bracelet Watch #T2M656

I was casting about for a small, gold-tone watch to go with gold mesh band I had already purchased, and this watch fit the bill. Its one of Timex's EasyReader models, designed for folks with slightly impaired vision, like us older gents. At 36mm case diameter and with 18mm lug spacing, plus a slender, dressy 8mm case thickness, it would be perfect.I figured I would just discard the hair-pulling expansion band that comes with it because I have never found them to be other than cheaply made with sharp metal edges and pure torture to wear.
Turns out that the expansion band on this watch isn't half bad.It does do a little hair-grabbing at first, but the inside edges of the band are rounded off for comfort, and pretty soon I gave up the idea of switching bands. And the watch really is easy to read in all lighting conditions (it has on-demand dial-lighting Indiglo when the crown is pressed in). The black hands against the white dial are easy to see, and the very simple, uncluttered dial is large because the gold-tone bezel is narrow.Fairly low water resistance at 30 meters, probably enough protection for car or dish washing or a heavy rain shower.
I also like the fact that Timex watches come from the factory with the movement stopped, so you can imagine that the watch battery is fairly fresh -- the watch hasn't been sitting on a shelf somewhere ticking it's little heart out waiting to be bought.
Overall, a timepiece with good form and function, no bells or whistles, recommended even if your eyesight is fine.
