Before you purchase a new watch band, you will need to know what size watch band you need.

To find out what size what band you need, just measure your current watch band / strap at the end that meets the watch.

Most men's watch bands range from 18mm - 22mm (larger men's watches are also now using 24mm or 26mm) and come in metal, leather, rubber, silicone, lizard, ostrich, alligator, suede, shark, stingray, and many other materials.

Most women' watch bands range from 14mm - 18mm (larger women's watches are now using up to 24mm bands) and come in metal, leather, rubber, silicone, lizard, ostrich, alligator, suede, shark, stingray, and many other materials.

Most watch bands are "straight" at the end.

If your watch band is "straight" at the end (no cutouts, etc.), then you will be able to easily find watch bands on ebay by simply typing in the size watch band you need (example - "18mm watch band" if your watch uses 18mm watch bands, etc).

If your watch is not "straight" at the end, then you'll need to search using the name/make/model of your watch to find the correct band (example - "....(brand).....(model)....(size)..., watch band").

If you have any questions re: what watch band you need, just email the seller of the watch band BEFORE bidding w/ any questions and most sellers are more then happy to help you purchase the right size/band.

You might also want to pick up a spring bar tool on ebay when purchasing your new watch band / strap.

These inexpensive tools will help you easily switch out your band.

Once you have your band and are ready to switch out your band, simply follow these easy directions:

All you have to do is get a spring bar tool (or a very small flat head screwdriver or a knife - be careful, please) and push the pins in that hold the band/buckle onto the watch. Just insert spring bar tool/screwdriver/knife between side of band and case/buckle and push in and down.

The band should "pop off" the watch and then just switch out the pins into the new band/buckle (and then place the band/buckle on your watch) and you'll be able to change your band/buckle easily and quickly.

These directions will work for 95% of all watches.

If you have a watch that uses screws or screw pins to hold your watch band on (usually more expensive watches), you will need a small screwdriver and will "unscrew" the pin instead of "popping" it off.

If you do have a watch w/ screw pins, I would suggest that you check w/ a jewler before switching out your band (just to be safe).

Review of Citizen Men's Eco-Drive Canvas Strap Watch #BM8180-03E

I ordered this watch from Amazon and it arrived before the estimated delivery date. I love the watch, and it looks much better in person than in pictures on the web. Quality is very good and the hands line up perfectly. The luminova is evenly applied and lasts longer, actually all the way through the night, which I didn't think would be the case. The only feature I don't like is the canvas band, which I found uncomfortable.I'm sure it's fine for others, but still a black leather band for less than (...)(any jewelry store or online store) compliments the watch very well, and it no longer looks like a 'weekend watch'.One small point about the Eco-drive that some other reviews I've read overlooked: Citizen Eco-drive models DO have a battery.The solar cell stores energy in a rechargeable mangenese-titanium battery.The battery should last a very long time according to Citizen engineers who project that even after 20 years the battery should retain 80% of recharge capacity (on their website), but only time will tell... no pun intended.Speaking of time, the watch is pretty accurate.I've had the watch for one month and during that time it has lost less than one second when compared to the US national time (www.nist.gov).In sum: this is a very well constructed watch that I feel is worth the money.

Review of Skagen Men's Slimline Mesh Watch #233XLSS

I am a watch fanatic and tend to do a lot of research on a watch before actually buying it. I have heard nothing but good things about Skagen from the first time I heard about them. The only negative comments I have heard were generally from people who got lemons or were just being overly picky.
This watch is better than I thought. The picture doesn't do it justice. It is extremely light, thin and looks great! It's so light that you might forget you have it on. Now, I wanted a Skagen with the date function so I was pleased when I found this watch. The date is right above the 6; my only problem is it's a little small but its really no big deal. I really wasn't sure about the metal mesh band, but I love it, it feels and looks great. The quality over all of the watch is very good. The band is easy to adjust, I just recommend you read the instructions first. It's very easy to adjust, just not obvious if you have never used this kind of band before. I would highly recommend getting this watch whether you're a fan of Skagen or this is your first one. I definitely intend to get another Skagen soon.

Review of Invicta 24mm Black Lorica Watch Strap IS36

I ordered a strap for a grand lupah size 26mm and got one that claimed was for a grand lupah 24mm, took the plastic off to replace my old strap (that is'nt even 4 months old and turned to strips of string)When I find out it's the wrong size. I noticed a tiny message on the plastic that say's" cannot be returned if plastic is removed". Nice now I'm stuck with it. Thanks for nothing.

This is a very nice watch.A fan of Seiko for 20+ years, I recently discovered the Citizen eco-drive watches, and now have 2. These things are cool..never have to worry about battery or winding. This is watch is perfect..not to dressy, not too thin (i know thin is all the rage, but i am not a fan), not too fat. Even the band is top quality, with a nice detail..ECO DRIVE engraved in the stainless steel buckle. As for accuracy..my older eco drive, and my wifes are dead on accurate. My other is a infantry style (also sold on amazon), i have had a year and wear it almost everyday and there is not one scratch on the crystal yet. I love these things

I have bought several styles and sizes of the rubber Modena Watch Bands.I have been very happy with all of them.I do not like bands with buckles so I have converted all my watches that had factory bands with buckles to rubber straps with deployment clasps.I found the black to go with most everything but I have used an orange strap on a large diver watch that is black with orange numerals and it just pops with that strap and I get a lot compliments.Great product, good quality and lots of choices in styles, colors and sizes. Review of Casio Men's G-Shock Multi-Band Solar Atomic Watch #GW810D-1A

I chose a Casio solar atomic watch because I had prior favorable experience with Casio's Databank (calculator) quartz watches.

The Casio G-Shock wristwatch GW810D-1AV (Module 3050) is more than a watch, and more than a chronometer. This timekeeping instrument is rated to gain or lose no more than 15 seconds per month. So if the wearer is in a part of the world where there is no detectable time signal, the watch can be expected to gain or lose 1/2 second or less per day.

At midnight local time, the watch's radio receiver automatically turns on and attempts to synchronize with the atomic time signal broadcast from the nearest official transmitter (two beacons in Japan, WWV in Fort Collins USA, one beacon in UK, and one beacon in Germany -- 5 total). If it successfully receives the time signal, it synchronizes the watch. If reception is not successful, the receiver tries again at 1 a.m. local, 2 a.m. local, ... up to six attempts, total, per day.

I took a flight to the San Francisco Bay area and found that I could not receive the time signal during the nights that I was there. This could have been due to the fact that my motel room in Redwood City was surrounded by other buildings and walls. During the week that I was away, the watch gained only two seconds. I took a motor trip to IL, WI, IN, OH, and KY, and the watch did update on time every night during my travels.

The watch has a photovoltaic cell under the crystal that charges an internal rechargeable battery, hence it never needs to be wound. It is big (not necessarily a plus), beautiful, rugged, portable, reliable, and accurate. I use mine to set all my other clocks, clock radios, etc. at multiple locations. And I use it to track artificial Earth satellites visually, for which purpose I do need a watch accurate to the nearest second.

Addendum of June 2009: I've had the watch for more than a year now and it continues to perform flawlessly. I have received no compensation of any kind for writing this review.

Review of Citizen Men's Eco-Drive Infusion Resin Band Watch #BN0040-00A

If you are looking for a diver with an understated look, this would serve the purpose. The face does not include the unnecessary "complications", just time and date. Its color matches that of the stainless steel; it is not entirely white, rather slightly gray. The hands do not stand out too much in normal light, but plenty enough to be able to see the time as quickly as on any good watch. The ceramic bezel looks refined and matches well the black rubber band. In the dark, the watch gives out the standard glow of the hands, hour marks and the dot on the top of the bezel. The fluorescent dye looks white in normal ambient light and standard slight green in darkness. The watch has a softer and less aggressive look compared to other divers, while managing to retain an unmistakable masculine feel through its size, use of black bezel, massive and rugged band, and perhaps also by the faceted twelve-sided rim of the bezel. Nice work, Citizen.

Review of Casio Men's Amazon Exclusive Reverse LCD Atomic Pathfinder Watch #PAW1300Y-1VCR

I got this watch last week and it's been great so far.I've been using Timex Ironman watches forever and this is slightly bigger but not at all bulky.The barometer has been spot on since I calibrated it.The altimeter worked great on a hill run that I did yesterday.Compass was off by 6 deg, but for a watch that isn't too bad.Thermometer is affected by your body temp so that's probably the most inaccurate sensor.The atomic timekeeping is probably the best thing about the watch.

The negatives are that the alarm isn't that loud and the countdown timer doesn't have a repeat setting, you have to start it over yourself.Overall though great watch, I would buy it again.

I purchased this watch for 22 year old son. He wanted a watch with a leather band, one that would be comfortable with some style. He is rather conservative in his dress, and although the face is a little large, he liked it.It is very handsome yet distinctive.Don't expect to be able to read it in the dark, however, that is why I only gave it four stars.It looks great in person, can be used for casual or dress.

Review of Casio Men's Pathfinder Multi-Band Solar Atomic Green Watch #PAW1300-3V

I have owned two Casio G-shock watches over a span exceeding a decade.I always liked the G-shock, but alas the viewing light recently stopped working and it was time to try something with a few more features.After quite a bit of searching I settled on the Pathfinder (model PAW 1300 - 3v) and I believe I made the correct personal choice.

Before actually receiving the watch from Amazon I was definitely concerned about the overall size of this watch.From my research I was half afraid I would end up with a geeky watch the size of a dinner plate on my wrist. Moreover, I don't have a big wrist to begin with so this was a real concern.I was pleasantly surprised that although slightly larger in circumference than a standard watch, this watch was not nearly as large as I had imagined.In fact, the difference between this model (1300) and the previous model (1200) is the size.The 1200 is nearly identical in features but is quite a bit thicker than the newer 1300 model.This Pathfinder sits nicely on my wrist and does not look unusual.

Practically speaking, this watch has a lot of nice features that I like, such as the compass, the automatic display light, atomic synchronization, and the solar power to note a few.While I would easily purchase this watch again, I might consider the model with the metal band.I say this because somehow with the price of this watch I was expecting it to have a bit more panache to it, if that makes any sense.This watch is fairly light weight and somehow looks characteristically similar to a lot of other pedestrian plastic-band watches out there.That may be fine for people who want just a plainish looking watch, but somehow the metal band version might look a bit nicer, although perhaps not as ruggedly practical.

I haven't had this watch long enough to judge its overall durability, but if my former G-shock watches are any indication, this Pathfinder should hold up just fine.

Review of 24mm MODENA RUBBER NEW STYLE TIRE TREAD watch band with DEPLOYANT buckle

I have bought several styles and sizes of the rubber Modena Watch Bands.I have been very happy with all of them.I do not like bands with buckles so I have converted all my watches that had factory bands with buckles to rubber straps with deployment clasps.I found the black to go with most everything but I have used an orange strap on a large diver watch that is black with orange numerals and it just pops with that strap and I get a lot compliments.Great product, good quality and lots of choices in styles, colors and sizes. Fast shipping also.Only wish they made more in the 26mm-28mm size.

Review of Luminox - Velcro Pullback Band, 22mm, SEAL, 3000 & 3900 Series

This one is even better than my orginal Luminox band! The badging is a slightly larger and more distinct. A nice visual touch. An excellent replacement after your original band burns out from years of use. Be careful as you extract your old 22mm Luminox watch spring bars. They may break upon removal. If so, The Watch Prince has the replacements and link pin removers if needed.

Review of Casio Men's G-Shock GIEZ Series Black Metal Band Chronograph Watch #GS1000D-1

I've only had my new G-shock for a day, but it is exactly what I was looking for; a super rugged watch that looks as good with jeans and a t-shirt as it does with dress pants and a button down. The functions took a little while to figure out, and I'm still not too sure about the auto calibration that'll keep me entertained for a little while, but over all a great watch. This is the 3rd G-Shock I've had and I swear by them now. The first was lost in a car accident. The second I'm fairly sure was done in by water damage but that was only due to the fact that I finally had to have the battery replaced which compromises the seal. Now with the solar charging battery this thing should be bomb proof!!
The only real complaint I have is that for a $400 (retail price) watch it came in the standard Casio packaging like you would get from the case at your local Wal-Mart. I really expected it to come in some type of nice gift box. I'm just glad I wasn't giving it as a gift!!!

Review of Timex Kids' Planets Stretch Band Watch #T7B631

This is a great, simple, inexpensive watch that is perfect for kids.The band is made of a cloth that stretches, so my son just slips it off and on and it's not a big, uncomfortable watch. It has a little piece of metal that the straps loop into if you want to open up the straps, but the little metal strapholder is cheap and hard to use that way and really just meant for sizing, I think. That each of the hands on the watch is a different color makes it easier for kids learning to read time and the design is simple and cool.Indiglo light is a hit also. I just got it a month ago, so I don't know how long it will last, but so far a great watch for great price.

Review of Citizen Women's Eco-Drive Flexible Band Two-Tone Watch #EW3154-90A

Very disappointed with this watch. I badly needed a waterproof watch - not a divers watch - just something to shower or swim with. It was described as such but when I got it it is not waterproof at all. Then it was described as having a regular click band when it had a huge elasticated one.
Not a happy bunny.

Just arrived, promptly and ticking.

I have several of the Seiko 5 automatic mechanicals, and have reviewed the 7S26 movement in another place.I expect the same from this one.

Good every-day timepiece.Quite compact and light.I may change out the band at some point but for now the basic nylon works well.Personally I liked the old-ish military styling and mechanical automatic movement.Also it was a little bit of an impluse buy because it reminds me of the Sylar watch from Heros/Villians :P

My only dissapointment is that it does not have a screw-down crown, which means that the water resistance is bare minimum. (washing hands, rain, but no swimming)

Review of Casio Men's G-Shock Multi-Band Solar Atomic Analog Watch #AWG101-1A

Just got this watch two days ago for a great price and I am very impressed so far. I have a decent collection of watches and this is my first G-Shock. I had been looking awhile for a tough durable watch with atomic timekeeping and solar power, but never really found a G-Shock style that I was completely enamored with. I am a real fan of analog style watches so when I came across this watch I finally knew I found what I was looking for, and let me tell you this watch is even cooler in person. I highly recommend this watch for anyone looking for a analog style G-shock with all the features listed above. My only gripe albeit small, is that I wish it had better illumination at night for the digital dials.

The Original Arctura is a great watch for those with a fetish like me.It has unique styling that catches the eye and you'll get lots of comments from friends and strangers alike.The mechanics never failed me, however, the only problem is with regular wear the rubber band will eventually crack and break.Your local jeweler will tell you they "don't make" this watch anymore so the band is not available.Obviously they are wrong since you can replace it on Amazon.

Review of 16mm Black The Band Velcro Watchband - Fits 16 to 18 mm

Pros: It works.It arrived quickly.It is inexpensive.It is comfortable.

Cons: The picture doesn't show you that when wearing the watch, you are staring at a big label that says "THE BAND".

It is awkward to get it snugly onto your wrist, and hard to get it looking straight.A amll velcor band has to wrap around a larger band, and probably won;t easily be centered.

Don't expect to make a fashion statement with this band.

This watch isn't going to be a great office-work watch or ideal for a nice night out.But for any other day it'll match whatever you have in your closet - the interchangeable bands will guarantee that.

The previous reviewer who gave this watch the lowest rating didn't review the manual - the interchangeable bands don't require any tool, just a little bit of fingernail strength, and jimmying it around a little.The first time I switched bands it took under a minute.The leather is quite stiff when you put any of the bands on for the first time so I'd suggest rolling both straps and bending them gently first beforehand to soften them up.Already the two bands I've worn have relaxed and the watch is quite comfortable to wear.

Previous to this, I have only owned skinny-banded tiny-faced dress watches, and I wanted to mix it up for a changeFor sure, the first day of wearing took a little adjustment, because this is not a small or superlight watch.It's quite chunky, with a large face, but I love the unapologetic size of it.I have a 5.5 inch wrist and was worried that this watch wouldn't fit small enough (my biggest gripe with my old watch was that even at the tightest setting, the watch face would always end up on the inside of my wrist, necessitating adjustment every time I glanced to check the time).This watch fits perfectly on the smallest setting, not flush against my skin but tight enough so that it won't flip over with normal movement.

The straps that come with the watch are not entirely as pictured; they are less brassy and bold, and more muted metallics in person.When buying this from Amazon, I didn't think I would ever use the copper tone, but it in person is more of a peachy-pink gold that is just gorgeous and matches about anything.The grey strap is also quite versatile, pale with hints of light violet.And of course, the silver and gold will also help to match whatever other jewelry you choose to wear.

The face is a gleaming white, which when moved in the light catches the mother-of-pearl sheen and hints of color.The numbers are large to match the case size instead of being dwarfed by it.The hands glow in the dark at night - though the numbers don't, it's simple enough to guess what the time is with the hands alone.

I can't recommend this highly enough.I love the look of it, and you can tell that it's a very well made high quality watch that will last for years.At Amazon's low price, I wouldn't hesitate as it's so far below retail (although I suspect retail might be a *tad* inflated...).Regardless, it's a beautiful watch and a versatile accessory.My only gripe is that although it is a "diver's" watch that can withstand 330ft of water depth, the leather straps, I'm guessing, are not waterproof and thus this defeats the purpose of having to see "300 METERS (330 ft)" on the bottom of the face of the watch forever.But that's just a nitpicky thing that bothers me just because I find it slightly contradictory for a waterproof watch to be on leather straps.As someone who is used to wearing their watch into and out of the shower daily for assumed water resistance, this watch may end up not being my "everyday" one because of the inconvenience of having to take it on and off so often for fear of damaging the leather.

This watch band is as nice as it looks on the webpage.I gave it to my husband as a replacement for his old one for his birthday.He really likes it.The only problem with it is that the material is very stiff and takes some breaking in.It was uncomfortable for him to wear at first. If it weren't for that I would have given five stars.
